Former Plymouth Raiders forward Pete Knechtel says Gary Stronach's consistent squad is the reason the team is playing so well in the BBL. "It's not like the normal BBL clubs that change their imports year after year and look to take a new direction," he told BBC Radio Devon. The Canadian was a Raider for the 2000-01 season and was back for the club's 25th anniversary match. He says the Raiders should be confident of playing well in the play-offs. "He (Gary Stronach) keeps the core group together every year which is why going into the quarter-finals they're going to be thinking they're quite strong. "Gary knows what he wants and is happy with what he has and he just tries to add a few little pieces on that jigsaw puzzle every year," added Knechtel. The Raiders host the Sheffield Sharks in the quarter-finals of the play-offs on Saturday evening, with a win putting them into the finals weekend in Birmingham in May.
