They could meet 10th seeds Petya Nedelcheva of Bulgaria and Anastasia Russkikh of Russia, who are favourites to beat the French pair of Laura Choinet and Weny Rasidi. White could not repeat her success in the mixed doubles as she and Chris Adcock eventually succumbed 21-6 14-21 21-8 to Indian ninth seeds Diju V and Jwala Gutta. Scotland's Alistair Casey and Susan Egelstaff lost their respective singles matches to Canada's David Snider and South Korea's Seung Hee Bae, while compatriots Imogen Bankier and Emma Mason are up against 13th seeds Savitree Amitapai and Vacharaporn Munkit in the ladies doubles. The Welsh pair of Joe Morgan and James Phillips have also been handed a tricky opener as they play Indonesian ninth seeds Alvent Yulianto Chandra and Hendra Aprida Gunawan.
