Ouseph plots writing career after badminton
England's three-time national champion Rajiv Ouseph says he is in confident mood ahead of the start of the World Championships in Paris on Monday.
The 23-year-old starts his campaign against Eric Pang on the first morning and he goes into the event after a week-long training camp in Denmark.
"Preparations have gone well," said Ouseph. "We've had a lot of short, intense sessions, it's been hard work."
Two-time national runner-up Carl Baxter is England's other singles competitor.
Baxter, who along with Ouseph has been training with new singles coach Kenneth Jonassen, Denmark's 2008 European champion and former world number two, starts his campaign on Tuesday when he comes up against Slovakia's Mikal Matejka.
World number 17 Ouseph added: "The emphasis in training was on quality rather than quantity. Kenneth has been feeding us the shots and, of course, he's still brilliant on court."
In the men's doubles 2009 Singapore Open winners Nathan Robertson and Anthony Clark are England's big hopes but they are up against 2005 world champions and 10th seeds Tony Gunawan and Howard Bach in the first round.

Chris Langridge and Robin Middleton have received a first-round bye but play their second round on Tuesday against fourth seeds Guo Zhendong and Chen Xu of China.
World number 20 pair Jenny Wallwork and Gabby White contest the women's doubles and they begin their challenge against Canada's Milaine Cloutier and Valerie St Jacques.
In the mixed doubles world number 12 pair and European bronze medallists Robertson and Wallwork start with a clash against Ukraine's Valeriy Atrashchenkov and Elena Prus on Tuesday, as Robertson looks to add to his 2005 world title with Gail Emms.
Meanwhile world number 21s Chris Adcock and White face a tough opener against India's ninth seeds Diju V and Jwala Gutta.
