Defending champion Desperques will face Perriam in the quarter-finals

Reigning champion Martyn Desperques has qualified for the quarter-finals of the Guernsey men's individual pool championship 2010.

Desperques emerged victorious after a tough encounter with fifth seed Ashley Perriam that ended 7-6.

He will play Ryan Le Page, who defeated top seed Jess De La Haye 7-6.

Also through to the last eight of the tournament are Kevin and Craig De Carteret, James Kirk, Alan Opie, Darren Hughes and Rob Priaulx.

Kevin De Carteret earned his place after beating Richard Sutton 7-5, setting up a clash with Craig De Carteret, who beat Tim Blackburn 7-3.

There was a 7-3 win for Kirk over Shane Allett that confirmed his spot against veteran Opie, who defeated sixth seed Ali Gilliland 7-4.

The quarter-final line-up is completed by Hughes and Priaulx following their respective victories over Shane Opie and Sam Bulmer.

All finals are due to be held on Saturday, 11 December.
