Scott Moran racing at Loton Park |
British Hillclimb champion Scott Moran wants success on his home circuit, Loton Park, to increase his lead at the top of the drivers' standings. Ludlow-based Moran tops the bill at Shropshire's Loton Park, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. "Over 150 of the country's fastest drivers will be competing at speeds of up to 140mph," Loton spokesman Tony Adams told BBC Radio Shropshire. Moran needs points to keep ahead of former champion, Martin Groves. He shares Gould GR61X single-seater racing car with his father Roger, the British champion in 1997, who himself is seeded third in the championship standings for 2010. Drivers from over the years who have achieved fastest time of day will take part in a cavalcade up the course at lunchtime on Sunday (13 June) to mark the anniversary of the course.
