Rounds 7 & 8 of the British Hillclimb Championship were completed at Gurston Down near Salisbury on Sunday despite slippery track conditions. Aylesbury's Trevor Willis won round seven and Basil Pitt took a career-best second place, but Ludlow's Scott Moran stays top of the standings. Stroud's Chris Merrick is fourth in the table after finishing 9th and 3rd. "It's been a very good end to what started off quite a difficult day," Stroud told BBC Radio Gloucestershire. "The rainy conditions on the track always make it a little bit slippery, you have to be careful with 630 horsepower. "I made a little mistake on the first run-off which put me back a little bit but I'm very pleased and the car was fantastic."
