Clive de Souza faces Matthew Cox in the last 16

Clive de Souza is through to the last 16 of the Breda Cup pool knockout after a upset win over Chris Melville.

Also through is the only female player in the tournament, Christelle Le Toullec, who now meets Guernsey's Darren Le Page.

Jess de la Haye of Guernsey, and Jersey's Andy Stentiford are also through.

"It was a good game," De Souza told BBC Jersey. "I was a bit lucky in the end. He had his chances, but just didn't take them."

The doubles take over on Sunday from 1400 BST at Planet Pool & Snooker in St Helier, with the singles resuming on Monday.
