Tom Hill clinched the Open title at the Guernsey Surfing Championships on Saturday, with a powerful display of competition surfing.

Hill surfed strongly throughout the event at Vazon, held in quality four to six feet waves, to recapture the title he last held in 2007.

The 26-year-old saw off a strong challenge in the final at T'Others from defending champion Johnny Wallbridge.

Wallbridge had to settle for second place with Tom Colley coming third.

Prolific Guernsey champion Josh Sexton added another trophy to his already impressive career haul by winning the Longboard division.

Sexton styled his way into first place with a faultless combination of classic moves on the clean wave faces.

Will De Garis took top honours in the U16 Division securing the island title ahead of Jack Simon and Jean Luc Helmot. Simon gained his revenge by defeating De Garis in the U14 final.

Harry Parfitt beat his brother Alex into top spot in the U12 Division.

Evie Wood took the girls' title finishing in top spot ahead of Chloe Tostevin and Kate De Carteret.
