Cesarewitch still on after floods

Greyhound racing

One of the biggest greyhound races of the year will still go ahead at the Oxford Stadium despite the bad weather.

Flash flooding caused the Saturday card to be abandoned and work has been done to ensure the televised Cesarewitch meeting can still be staged on Tuesday.

Stadium manager Maureen Ridley said: "The severe downpour caused some guttering to overflow and we ended up with some water inside the building.

"There wasn't too much damage and de-humidifiers are doing the trick."
