Glen Hall beat Russel Winter into second place

Newquay surfers Russel Winter and Alan Stokes narrowly missed out on the top spot in the first UK Pro Surf event of the season at Croyde.

Australia's Glen Hall was the eventual winner after a strong performance in the final on Monday afternoon, with Winter claiming second place.

In the women's event, Penzance's Tass Swallow finished third behind Sarah Beardmore and Glen Spurlock.

Other results saw Newquay's Lewis Clinton win the pro-junior class.

Leon Mansfield was first in the Under-16 boys event, with Gabi Rowe winning the Under-16 girls and Alex Gibson coming home first in the Under-12 open.

The next tour event will be held at Fistral Beach in Newquay from 12-14 June.
