The first weekend of the Swagelok Isle of Man Swimming Championships saw two new island records and a host of Island Games consideration times at the NSC. In the 100m individual medley heats, 15-year-old Heather Miller set a new junior and senior record with a time of one minute 8.36 seconds. The record only lasted until the next heat as Olivia Rawlinson, 16, reclaimed her senior record in a time of 1:07:62. Rawlinson then went even quicker in the final to set the record at 1:07:44. On his way to claiming the 400m individual medley title, 14-year-old Tom Bielich set a new junior Manx record with a time of 4:49.08. The Swagelok Isle of Man Swimming Championships will conclude over the last weekend in March and the first weekend in April at the National Sports Centre in Douglas.
