Olivia Rawlinson has smashed the senior Isle of Man record for the one hundred metres backstroke.

The precocious 16-year-old sliced over half a second off the previous record at the final league match of the season, held at the NSC in Douglas.

Rawlinson's new record stands at one minute 5.03 seconds and she now holds 31 junior and 29 senior records over both short and long courses.

The league match was won by Douglas who were crowned champions.
