Guernsey men's hockey team have been drawn to play Worthing in the quarter-finals of the English National Trophy. The island side beat Sonning 3-1 last weekend to set up the clash on Sunday, 8 March. It is not yet known if Guernsey will have to travel to the UK to play the game after they were drawn at home. Competition rules allow for UK-based teams to ask Channel Island sides to play on the mainland should they not want to travel. Guernsey have avoided big rivals Jersey, who are also through to the quarter-finals. They face a trip to Manchester to face Didsbury Northern and Guernsey's hockey development manager, Ben Allberry, said he was happy not to be playing the Caesareans. "It's not case of wanting to avoid them, it's just a case that we'd like to keep in the spirit of the inter-insular on 28 March," Allberry told BBC Guernsey. "It's just keeping ourselves away from them until that day. I think it takes something away from the actual cup tie, knowing that over our shoulders is a tie against Jersey."
