 Campbell surfs his way to the British under-18's title |
Cornish surfers won every single category at the 2008 British Junior Championships at the weekend. Stuart Campbell, 17, from Wollacombe and Holly Donnelly, also 17, from Newquay, took the main titles at Fistral Beach in Newquay. Donnelly is the reigning English women's champion but this was her first national junior title. "I've never won the British Junior Champion title and I really wanted to achieve this one," she said. Campbell's title means he has been British junior champion at every age level. and he added: "Without a doubt it's a brilliant feeling and a great achievement to be the British Junior Champion. "I've been in France training hard all summer with a coach and that's really paid off," he added. Newquay surfers Josh Piper and Harry Timson won the under-16's and under-14's boys' titles respectively while St Ives' Tassy Swallow took the under-14's girls' crown and Lostwithiel's Ed Smith was under-12 boys' winner.
