Tom Butler won the English Nationals Championships

Newquay's Tom Butler has won the English Nationals Surfing Championships at Cornwall's Watergate Bay.

The 19-year-old beat last year's winner and fellow Newquay resident Oli Adams to take the men's open title.

In total 10 of the 19 titles on offer went to surfers from the Cornish town, including 16-year-old Holly Donnelly, who took the women's open.

Newquay's Candice O'Donnell won the women's longboard while Lee Bartlett won the seniors and masters events.
