Tributes were paid to Jackson (right) Tributes were paid to a leading Sark sportsman as his funeral was held in the island on Tuesday. John Jackson, who died last week aged 74, set up clay pigeon shooting in the island and nurtured the island's Commonwealth and Island games talent. He won Sark's first ever Island Games medal, with a silver in Guernsey in 1987 in the individual automatic ball trap with a score of 176. Team-mate Nick Dewe told the BBC: "He encouraged us to represent the island." Those trained by Jackson had medal success at the island games in Rhodes and Shetland. Dewe added that Jackson "had a wicked sense of humour"
