Madeline Perry was beaten by Vanessa Atkinson in the semi-finals of the Kuala Lumpur Open on Friday. The Banbridge player was defeated 9-7 9-0 10-8 by the world number two from the Netherlands.
Perry claimed the biggest win of her career when she beat world number three Rachael Grinham 9-1 9-7 9-1 in the quarter-finals on Thursday.
Perry became the highest ever ranked Irish woman when she moved to 10th in the world rankings last month.
Atkinson hammered Natalie Grainger of the United States 10-8 9-4 9-0 in 27 minutes in her quarter-final.
Perry is the current Irish Open champion and she won the Artemis Edinburgh Open in January.
