Perry beaten in New York decider
Madeline Perry's tremendous run in the Women's Vassar College Class of 1932 Open in New York ended with defeat in the final by top seed Natalie Grainger.

Perry, currently boasting a career-high world ranking of 14, came back from two games down to beat France's Isabelle Stoehr in the semi-finals.

The Northern Ireland woman won the first two game of the decider but eventually lost 7-9 5-9 9-3 9-2 9-1.

Perry had defeated England's Fiona Geaves in the quarter-finals.
