Madeline Perry's tremendous run in the Women's Vassar College Class of 1932 Open in New York ended with defeat in the final by top seed Natalie Grainger. Perry, currently boasting a career-high world ranking of 14, came back from two games down to beat France's Isabelle Stoehr in the semi-finals.
The Northern Ireland woman won the first two game of the decider but eventually lost 7-9 5-9 9-3 9-2 9-1.
Perry had defeated England's Fiona Geaves in the quarter-finals.
