Mathews misses the forthcoming internationals |
Great Britain's men's hockey team will begin their preparations for the Olympics without forward Dave Mathews. The Amsterdam star has a torn muscle that means he will miss the one-off Test against Australia on Thursday.
Mathews, who also misses the Tri-Nations event featuring Australia and Pakistan, will be hoping to prove his fitness in time for Olympic selection.
The series, which will take place in Nottingham, begins on Saturday 5 June with the final game on Friday 11 June.
