Four more British swimmers secured their places on the penultimate day of the British Olympic trials. It brings the total number of swimmers to have qualified within individual events to 17.
The men's 200m individual medley provided the biggest return of the night, with both Robin Francis and Adi Turner making the grade.
"I was taking it seriously but I had no expectations in the 200m as the 400m is my best event," said Francis.
Francis added: "I can relax now that I've achieved Olympic qualification but I will be going for nothing less in the longer event."
Simon Burnett of Wycombe District provided one of the comebacks of the trials when he took the gold and qualified in the men's 200m freestyle.
"I've been struggling all year after I broke my wrist," he said. "So it's fantastic to return from that, set a new personal best time and to qualify or the Olympic Games."
Rebecca Cooke, 21, ensured her place at her second Olympics when she took the women's 800m freestyle title.
