Racewatch: Arc meeting
Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe meeting
All the action from Longchamp in France, where Marienbard and Frankie Dettori win the big race of the day, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

1630 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, 1m4f

1 Marienbard (F Dettori) 10-1
2 Sulamani (T Thulliez) 2-1
3 High Chaparral (M Kinane) 7-4f
16 ran

Frankie Dettori claims his second consecutive Arc victory on Marienbard.

1545 Grand Criterium, 7f

1 Hold That Tiger (K Fallon) 9-1
2 Le Vie dei Colori (O Peslier) 15-2
3 Intercontinental (C Soumillon) 3-1f
14 ran

Aidan O'Brien gets a boost before High Chaparral's challenge in the Arc when Hold That Tiger makes an amazing storming late run to clinch victory.

Ridden by Kieren Fallon, Hold That Tiger is the slowest out of the stalls and is last coming into the final stages.

Long-time leader Le Vie dei Colori holds off the challenge of Intercontinental, who looks to be cruising coming into the last furlong.

But Hold That Tiger makes up about 12 lengths on the leaders to pick off the field and get his nose in front at the line.

O'Brien had four runners in the race, which he won last year with the record-breaking colt Rock of Gibraltar, but Hold That Tiger was not the first string.

1510 Prix Marcel Boussac Criterium, 1m

1 Six Perfections (T Thuilliez) 4-6f
2 Etoile Montante (R Hughes) 6-1
3 Luminata (K Manning) 16-1
10 ran

Six Perfections justifies her favouritism by capturing the Group One juvenile fillies' race and sees her odds for next year's 1,000 Guineas immediately cut.

The filly tracks the leaders going into the home straight, making her move in the final furlong and she wins easing down.

The two-year-old is owned by the Niarchos family, trained by Pascal Bary and ridden by Thierry Thuilliez, the same team who will run Sulamani in the Arc.

1435 Prix de l'Opera, 1m2f

1 Bright Sky (D Boeuf) 7-4f
2 Irrestistible Jewel (P Smullen) 6-1
3 Marotta (T Jarnet) 17-2
12 ran

Bright Sky strikes a blow for the French with a comprehensive victory.

Striking the front in the final furlong, the French Oaks winner streaks home under Dominque Boeuf.

Irish-trained Irrestistible Jewel, ridden by Pat Smullen, is a distant second.

1400 Prix de L'Abbaye, 5f

1 Continent (D Holland) 7-1
2 Slap Shot (M Demuro) 25-1
3 Zipping (D Bonilla) 12-1
20 ran

Another success for a British trainer with David Nicholls' Continent picking up the presitgious sprint.

Darryll Holland times his run to perfection to pip Italian challenger Slap Shot by a short head.

But there is confusion in the winner's enclosure when Slap Shot's jockey Mirco Demuro begins celebrating, believing he has won.

After a delay of 15-20 minutes while the judges study the photo, Continent is declared the winner.

1325 Prix du Cadran, 2m 4f

1 Give Notice (JP Murtagh) 9-2 Jt Fav
2 Pushkin (D Boeuf) 15-2
3 Cut Quartz (O Peslier) 12-1
16 ran

After a day of disappointment on Saturday, the British contingent make a good start with John Dunlop's Give Notice, ridden by Johnny Murtagh, winning France's premier staying event.

The five-year-old gelding, who was second in the Goodwood Cup, produces a late burst to win the Group One race and the 70,000 first prize.

Popular veteran Persian Punch sets the pace with Polish Summer taking up the running and looking to have stolen a march on the field.

But Murtagh times his run to perfection and Give Notice holds off the challenge to land the spoils by a head from the equally fast-finishing Pushkin.

Polish Summer, who passed the post third, is disqualified and placed last after a stewards' inquiry.

Persian Punch is also disqualified.
