France's main hope Aquarelliste was second, with Sagacity beating Golan to third after a photo finish. Dettori was claiming his 100th Group One win as the 2000 Epsom Derby runner-up raced to the front and destroyed the 17-runner field. The delighted rider punched the air as his mount crossed the line to a massive roar from punters who had made the four-year-old clear favourite. It was the jockey's second win of the day and his fifth at the two-day meeting. "I'm on top of the world," he said, while waving to the crowd as he he returned to the winner's enclosure. 1 Sakhee 9-4f; 2 Aquarelliste 5-1; 3 Sagacity 50-1. All 17 ran. 1545 Grand Criterium, 7f Rock of Gibraltar, jointly owned by Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson and Sue Magnier, cruised clear of his rivals for an awesome victory. Aidan O'Brien's charge, ridden by Michael Kinane, accelerated in electrifying fashion as the rest of the field were left trailing. Ferguson was delighted after his first Group One success as an owner, which was greeted with great appreciation by the thousands of English fans at the course. Imperial Beauty, trained in France by John Hammond, surged clear to record a memorable victory for jockey Yataka Take. The win was an early boost for owners Michael Tabor and Sue Magnier, who run the well-fancied Milan in the feature race, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Bahamian Pirate finished second, with Pipalong and Kevin Darley in third. 1 Imperial Beauty; 2 Bahamian Pirate; 3 Pipalong. All 19 ran. 1400 Prix de l'Opera, 1m 2f Terre a Terre called the tune in the 10-furlong race for fillies. Christophe Soumillon steered home the four-year-old, who carried top weight. British raider Mot Juste had to settle for second place. 1 Terre a Terre; 2 Mot Juste; 3 Rebelline. 1325 Prix du Cadran, 2m4f Germinis ran out an easy winner of the marathon opener on Arc Day at Longchamp. The seven-year-old was handily placed throughout the race and went clear in the straight. He was followed home by Generic and San Sebastian.
