A subdued evening on the last night of the Guernsey Mixed Volleyball League saw just three of the six matches taking place. The teams at the top of the leagues defended their position in straight sets wins. In the top of the table clash NashCopy confirmed top spot with a 2-0 win against RB Coquelin Electrics. HTC nearly won a morale victory over Division Two champions RBC pushing them to the wire in the first set before the champions fought back to win 2-0. A run of seven points from the serving of Manu Dhendere put NashCopy ahead in the first set. They maintained a comfortable lead throughout, thanks to keen court cover and high spirits. RB Coquelin played just as hard, with both teams utilising a mix of well-placed spikes and sneaky tips to keep their opposition on their toes. Captain Mike Amstad gave NashCopy an early lead in the second set from the service line. RB Coquelin later fought their way back into the game, buoyed by a string of serves from Ace Collenette. However, it was not enough to catch NashCopy, who won in straight sets. The last game of the season usually throws up a quiet affair, but despite RBC already crowned Division Two champions, their match against mid-table Holy Trinity Church was anything but quiet. In fact the bank-based team was caught on the back foot particularly in the first set and even captain Paul Nash admitted afterwards that the team was a little static. HTC took advantage of their opponents' slow start and Jeanette Martel executed some lovely setting on which Phil Girard and Lee Garland captalised. Jannick Radford also served up one of his better games to push RBC all the way in the first set, HTC narrowly missing out 25-27. Missing Kirsty Windham through dance commitments, coach Richard Skipper brought daughter Rebecca into the setting position and she did not disappoint. However, RBC did show why they have only lost one domestic game this season and their experience shone throughout the match. They capitalised on the momentum from the first set and won 25-17 in the second to take the match. In the only development match to take place, Rothschild and Mercator were keen to provide enough excitement for the die-hard crowd on the balcony. Rothschild took the first set 25-17. But Mercator stepped up their game in the second, which could have gone either way. At 28-26, Mercator had taken the advantage to level the game. This proved to be the incentive they needed and they won the deciding set by eight points. Doyle Motors' Bruisers and Specsavers were both handed three points when their opponents were unable to field teams. The match between Heritage and Home Again was abandoned through a double no-show.
