Top-of-the-table RB Coquelin Electrics and NashCopy had comfortable wins in Guernsey's Mixed Volleyball League. Coquelin's serving was too strong for Cannon in their 2-0 win, the second set saw good attacking play from both teams and at 19-19 Ace Collenette's serving gave Coquelins the victory. League-leaders NashCopy overcame DF Cave in 2-0 on Monday 17 March. GVA's Media Officer Jo Turville said: "NashCopy's performance was way below that exhibited in the Inter-insulars." In Division Two, Doyle Motors Bruisers faced Kingspin in the first of a consecutive two match battle to take the runners up spot. Kingspin took advantage of a sluggish start by the Bruisers, and were able to edge the first set 26-24. But the Bruisers soon found their stride, winning the second set 25-12 and clinching victory with a 15-8 win in the final set. Tess Hinshaw was in sparkling form as Rothschild overcame Mercator 2-0. Mercator took an early lead but, with some great serving from Karen Battle and Clare Guilbert, Rothschild came back to win the opening set 25-22. In the second set, Mercator took first lead again and, with great team work inspired by Richard Grimes, were sneaking ahead. However, using their two subs, Rothschild settled to seal victory. Heritage and HSS each enjoyed straight-sets wins over GVA Juniors and Home Again respectively.
