Video - Zhang wins all-Chinese table tennis final

China's women underlined their mastery of the table tennis competition as they claimed all three medals in the women's singles on Friday.

Top seed and defending champion Zhang Yining took the gold medal as she edged out team-mate Wang Nan 8-11 13-11 11-8 11-8 11-3.

And Guo Yue picked up the bronze medal with a 11-6 14-12 9-11 7-11 11-3 11-4 defeat of Singapore's Li Jia Wei.

The host country had already won the women's team competition.

Zhang's gold was her fourth in her third Olympics, equally the great Deng Yaping's medal haul.

China have never lost the women's singles crown since the sport was introduced at the 1988 Olympics.
