Video - Du Li wins 50m rifle gold China's Du Li clinched a new Olympic record as she won gold in the women's 50m rifle 3 position shooting event. The 26-year-old led by one point going into the final and shot a 101.3 to win the event with a record 690.3 points. The triumph will be some consolation for Du, who was favourite for the 10m air rifle but ended up in fifth place. Katerina Emmons of the Czech Republic, who took gold in the 10m air rifle, took the silver medal, while bronze went to Cuba's Eglis Yaima Cruz. Du's mark beat the previous Olympic record of 688.4 set by Russia's Lioubov Galkina when she won gold in Athens four years ago. Galkina finished fourth in Beijing. | 606: DEBATE | "The last four days (since losing the 10m rifle) felt longer than four years," said Du. "It was very hard to lose the first gold of my home Olympics, but I got a lot of support from my family and coaches and the Chinese people. "They encouraged me a lot and I felt I just could not give up now. I am happy to make them happy again."
