Mongolia's Gundegmaa Otryad equalled the Olympic record in qualification, scoring 590 points to lead by three going into the final. But Chen, who is the world champion, overturned the deficit to record a new Olympic best of 793.4 points to take the title from Otryad. Germany's Munkhbayer Dorjsuren clinched the bronze medal with 789.2 points.
