Trap shooting record for Makela-Nummela Satu Makela-Nummela of Finland scored 91 hits to take the women's trap shooting gold medal in Beijing. The Finn hit all of the first 11 targets and 21 in all over the course of the finals to set an Olympic record. Zuzana Stefecekova of Slovakia, got the silver medal after registering 89 hits, while Four shooters contested the bronze medal in a shoot-out. American Corey Cogdell claimed the final medal, while Briton Charlotte Kerwood failed to qualify. The 21-year-old sealed the third-place spot as three other competitors missed their first hit. It capped a good performance for the youngest competitor in the final after she finished 50th at the 2007 World Championships. "I've only been shooting this for the past two years so I definitely didn't expect to do this so early in my career. This is an incredible blessing," said Codgell. The top finisher for hosts China was Liu Yingzi who finished in 12th place with a score of 63 points.
