Weather affects Zoe Gillings snowboarding build-up

Gillings' impressions of Olympic course

Manx snowboarder Zoe Gillings says the weather conditions in Vancouver are affecting her build-up for Tuesday's snowboard cross competition.

The warm, wet conditions have led to the cancellation of practice sessions and competitors having limited time on the course.

The 24-year-old told BBC Isle of Man: "The conditions aren't great but we're all in the same boat."

The first qualification is scheduled for Tuesday at 1800 GMT.

The medals will then be contested just over two hours later.

Speaking from Vancouver she added: "The course is really slushy. I think if it was any other competition the event would have been cancelled by now."
