Kellogg and Clark were crowned European champions in April

European mixed doubles badminton champions Anthony Clark and Donna Kellogg failed to make the BWF Super Series Masters final in Malaysia.

The third seeds lost to favourites Nova Widianto and Liliyana Natsir 23-21 21-17, the Indonesian duo taking the match on their third match point.

It was a disappointing end for the English pair, who bounced back from an opening defeat to reach the last four.

England's Robert Blair and Scotland's Imogen Bankier did not reach the semis.

They lost two matches on the opening day of the tournament and then their final group match against seventh seeds Flandy Limpele and Vita Marissa of Indonesia 21-17 21-15.

Yonex All England champion Tine Rasmussen was Europe's last hope in the women's singles, but she went down 21-13 21-16 to former Chinese star and Hong Kong player Zhou Mi in their semi-final.

However, Europe have one finalist in Peter Gade, the Dane qualifying in second place in his group on countback (points won and lost) after he, Chan Yan Kit and Wong Choong Hann had each won one match and lost two.

And in the semi-final, fourth seed Gade beat second seed Sony Dwi Kuncoro of Indonesia 21-10 21-10 to set up a final against Lee Chong Wei or Taufik Hidayat.
