Anthony Clark and Donna Kellogg won the European Championships mixed doubles title but Kellogg and Gail Emms lost their women's doubles crown. The second seeds beat Poland's Robert Mateusiak and Nadiezda Kostiuczyk - who beat Emms and Nathan Robertson in the semi-finals - 16-21 22-20 21-15. Kellogg said: "I didn't want to go home with three silvers. I'm so relieved." Emms and Kellogg lost their title to Danes Kamilla Rytter Juhl and Lena Frier Kristiansen 21-18 21-18. | I have been playing some brilliant badminton this week but they played better today |
Kellogg's other silver came last week, when England fell to Denmark in the team competition in Henning. She added: "We've had eight days of continuous play here and that's made it tough but our determination got us through. "This is certainly something we can look back on with satisfaction." | 606: DEBATE |
Emms and Kellogg got off to a flying start and led 6-0 before the Danes launched a fightback to snatch victory in a tight match. Emms said: "I have been playing some brilliant badminton this week but they played better today. I would love to have won two titles here but it was not to be. You have to take the losses with the wins. "I have two weeks off now and I am going on holiday. I'm having 10 days in Goa."
