A hard-fought victory at Edendork has lifted Tyrone up the Division One table in the Allianz National League.

They led six points to five at the break with Enda McGinley (2), Tommy McGuigan, Raymond Mulgrew and Niall Gormley landing points.

Ryan Bradley got two frees for Donegal whose other first-half scores came from Rory Kavanagh and Kevin Rafferty.

Donegal battled back to level at nine each but McGuigan and McGinley landed the last two scores for Tyrone.

It means any worries about relegation appear to have eased for Red Hands manager Mickey Harte.

"Last week we beat Laois which took us away from the relegation zone," said harte.

"But if we had lost this one we would have been right back down there.

"It is good to be on five points now. We are not out of danger yet but we are moving in the right direction."
