Damien Burke of Galway closes in on Donegal's Ryan Bradley |
Donegal hung on for a one-point victory over overnight leaders Galway in Division One of the National League. Brian McIver's men led 11 points to six early in the second half and, when Galway's Damien Burke was sent-off, a home win looked in little doubt.
Galway closed the gap by three but then Brian Roper netted a low shot to put Donegal 1-11 to 0-9 in front.
Michael Meehan quickly replied with Galway's goal but the home side kept their noses in front to claim the win.
It means Donegal join Galway and Derry on six points in the top division.
