Shane Goan of Fermanagh holds off Mayo's Aiden Campbell |
Fermanagh had a dream start against Mayo at Clones but ended up reflecting on a catalogue of missed chances. Early points from Tom Brewster and Eamon Maguire were added to by a goal from full-back Barry Owens to have the Ernemen sitting pretty at 1-2 to 0-1.
Mayo stormed back with six points from Conor Mortimer (3), Aidan Campbell, Trevor Mortimer and Alan Dillon.
Fermanagh tried to respond but their six wides in the second half meant the Westerners always stayed in front.
So Charlie Mulgrew's men stay bottom of Division 1A having lost all four matches.
They next face a trip to Dublin, than have Cork at home before finishing their programme away to Donegal.
