Charlie Mulgrew's side lost their NFL match against Limerick |
Under-par Fermanagh fell to their second defeat in the National League as Limerick's new-look side ran out winners by five points at Clones. The Ernesiders enjoyed a good start and led through a Ciaran McElroy goal.
Charlie Mulgrew's side failed to add a score for 26 minutes but still led 1-3 to 0-5 at the interval.
Limerick got their first goal early in the second half through corner-forward Michael Reidy and scored another late on when Jason O'Brien found the net.
Now Fermanagh have to lift themselves for next weekend's match against All-Ireland champions Kerry.
"Limerick were worthy winners - we were poor," admitted Farmanagh boss Mulgrew.
"We got off to a good start but rested on our laurels and lost the pace of the game."
