Tyrone eased into the Dr McKenna Cup final as they swept past Monaghan at Breffni Park on Tuesday night.

Goals from Stephen O'Neill and Declan Treanor helped the Red Hands to a 2-6 to 0-5 lead at the break.

Monaghan's Eoin Duffy was sent-off after 42 minutes for a high challenge on Martin Penrose.

Tyrone substitute Brian Dooher scored two points on his comeback after a long injury lay-off as his team secured a clash with Donegal in Saturday's final.

Man-of-the-match O'Neill palmed the ball into the net on nine minutes from Niall Gormley's pass.

O'Neill turned provider five minutes later as Treanor fired into the bottom corner.

Duffy was presented with a good goal chance after the restart but saw his shot blocked by Red Hands defender Cormac McGinley.

McGinley came to Tyrone's rescue again after 49 minutes when he pushed a goalbound shot over the bar.

However, the outcome was never in doubt and Mickey Harte's side have four days to recover before facing Donegal at Healy Park.
