Dunloy 3-19 Dungiven 0-9 Alistair Elliott featured in Dunloy's win over Dungiven at Casement |
Dunloy secured their fourth successive AIB Ulster Club hurling title by outclassing underdogs Dungiven in Sunday's decider at Casement Park.
The Cuchulainns side proved much too strong for the Derry champions who were appearing in the Ulster final for the first time in 30 years.
Dunloy scored two goals in a three-minute spell in the first half to stamp their authority on the game.
Darren Quinn and Paddy Richmond both hit the net and it was looking ominous for Dungiven who had Liam Hinphey red carded.
Apart from geoffrey McGonigle, Dungiven did not have the firepower to seriously trouble a Dunloy defence in which Gary O'Kane was superb.
Quinn scored another goal in the second half as Dunlop notched up a winning margin of 19 points.
