Killyclogher boss Peter McGinnity will miss his team's game |
Killyclogher's request for a postponement of their Ulster Club Championship opener against either Crossmaglen or Dromintee on 2 November has been turned down.
The Tyrone champions' manager Peter McGinnity will not be able to take charge of his team for the scheduled game because he will not have returned from Australia - where he is on duty with Ireland's International Rules squad.
McGinnity is part of manager John O'Keeffe's backroom team Down Under.
However, an Ulster Council spokesman told the BBC that the provincial body's stance on Killyclogher's match had not changed.
"Any county champions who have a player in either the Irish International Rules squad or the Irish Shinty panel will be facilitated. Killyclogher have no such players," said Aogan Farrell.
With the second Test in Melbourne taking place on 31 October, it would be impossible for the Fermanagh man to make it back to Ireland for the scheduled Armagh contest.
The chances of the provincial body agreeing to a deferral of the game were always thought to be remote.
The Killyclogher club point out that this will be their first chance to compete in the Ulster Championship after their emotional victory over favourites Errigal Ciaran in Sunday's Tyrone decider.
It was sweet revenge for Peter McGinnity's men as they had been beaten in the 2002 decider by Errigal Ciaran who went on to lift the Ulster title.
The Armagh final between eight-in-a-row seeking Crossmaglen and Dromintee takes place on Sunday.
