Dominic Corrigan is staying for a third term with Fermanagh |
Dominic Corrigan has ended speculation about his future as Fermanagh football manager by agreeing to stay on for another term.
However, the Kinawley man made it clear that the 2004 Championship would be his third and last campaign as boss of the Ernesiders.
Corrigan had been involved in a stand-off with the county board, apparently over securing better financial assistance for players.
The 2003 was a successful one for Fermanagh, involving two trips to Croke Park for an All-Ireland Championship quarter-final and a National League semi-final.
But, even so, there was still talk that Corrigan could walk away from the senior manager's position.
But Corrigan said he was having another crack because he felt the current Fermanagh squad was capable of winning the Ulster Championship.
"I feel they are capable of delivering for Fermanagh what no other Fermanagh team has done, and that is winning an Ulster title," said Corrigan.
"That is the thing which drove me back to give it one final fling."
Corrigan was appointed Fermanagh boss in 2001, stepping up from assistant manager following the resignation of John Maughan.
