Paidi O Se's reign as Kerry boss seems to be at an end.
Kerry county chairman Sean Walsh said at a county board meeting earlier this week that O Se's term was "up".
"We will have to put a new management team in place," said the chairman, even though O Se has led Kerry to two All-Ireland titles over the last seven years.
O Se's team trainer John O'Keeffe and current Limerick boss Liam Kerins are among the fancied contenders for the job.
Kerryman Kerins has refused to comment on whether he would be interested in replacing O Se.
His term as Limerick boss has finished although the county board are keen for him to continue in the role.
Kerins steered Limerick to this year's Munster Final after shocking Cork in the first round.
The Shannonsiders were defeated by Kerry in the Munster decider and then were hammered by Armagh in the All-Ireland Quarter-Finals.
Meanwhile, Luke Dempsey's reign as Westmeath football manager is over.
Dempsey's position became untenable after the both the county board and players indicated that they wanted a new boss.
His decision concludes his eight-year stint with Westmeath teams.
In that time, he has overseen the most successful period in the county's footballing history.
