Donegal's Stephen McDermott has won his fitness race to face Armagh who parade a full-strength squad for Sunday's All-Ireland semi-final tie.

The young Glenfin midfielder had been struggling with a toe injury since the drawn quarter-final tie with Galway.

However, he has come through with flying colours which means that Brendan Boyle drops down to the bench in the only change from the replay victory over the Tribesmen.

The doubts of centre-back Barry Monaghan were also lifted after came through a fitness test on a jarred knee and is in manager's Brian McEniff's starting line-up.

Star forward Brendan Devenney, who had been also troubled with a knee injury throughout the season, is going into the game full of confidence.

''I am really looking forward to the game,' he said. ''I am enjoying the training, enjoying my football which is totally different from what it was last year.

''Everything has been very good for Donegal this year, and I suspect we have surprised a lot of people.

''Somebody said that although your form may change, the class of the team is always there.

''That would be Donegal as that little bit of class we had is coming through again.''

However, Armagh, who have a clean bill of health throughout their strong squad, will be a very difficult to shift from their goal of a second All-Ireland final.

Armagh boss Joe Kernan gave a complete vote of confidence to the 15 players who started in their All-Ireland quarter-final success at the expense of Laois.

But forward Steven McDonnell believes that last season's success will stand to them.

''We are going into the game full of confidence,'' he said. ''We realise that we can beat Donegal if our work rate is 100 per cent and up the tempo of our game.

''Last season, we went into the semi-final against Dublin a bit cautious. We just were not sure whether we could beat them or not and finally win at Croke Park.

''We climbed that mountain and now we know we can win there and Croke Park is a good pitch for us.

''Hopefully we can do the job again.''
