Martin McElkennon has been confirmed as the assistant-boss to new Cavan manager Eamon Coleman.
McElkennon had been working as the Fermanagh team trainer under Dominic Corrigan but he has now taken the decision to renew his association with Coleman.
The Tyrone man worked with Coleman during the Ballymaguigan native's most recent stint as Derry football manager.
After Coleman quit the Derry job last year, McElkennon was snapped up by Corrigan but their association has proved to be a brief affair.
"Eamon and I go back from when we won a Tyrone championship with Kildress and I can honestly say that he is the best manager I have ever worked with," McElkennon told the Irish News.
McElkennon added that he had expected to remain with Fermanagh for at least another season but Coleman's offer of greater responsibility helped sway his decision to make the move.
"I was looking to have a bigger contribution into things at Fermanagh but that wasn't going to happen," he added.
McElkennon paid tribute to the efforts of the Fermanagh players and management during his period with the county.
"It was tough to leave Fermanagh and I wish them and Dominic Corrigan well".
