Eamon Coleman's hopes of landing the vacant Cavan football job may have been complicated by his sending off in a club game in the county over the weekend.
The former Derry boss was ordered from the dugout while taking charge of Gowna in the Cavan Football Semi-Final against Cavan Gaels which eventually ended in a draw.
Coleman apparently got involved in an incident which culminated with a Cavan Gaels player being sent off by referee Joe McQuillan.
The former All-Ireland winning manager is thought to have been reported for verbal abuse of the referee.
Coleman is the only outside candidate thought be in contention for the Breffni job.
Former players Stephen King, Damien O'Reilly and Ronan Carolan are reckoned to in the thoughts of the five-man selection committee who have been given the job of finding a successor to Mattie Kerrigan.
Meath man Kerrigan quit following the qualifier defeat by Fermanagh after two years in the Cavan job.
McHugh not interested
Coleman has also been linked with the vacant Sligo job following the resignation of Peter Forde.
Anthony Molloy, meanwhile, is emerging as the early favourite to succeed Brian McEniff as manager of Donegal.
The 1992 All-Ireland captain previously managed the county's minor team and with Martin McHugh and Declan Bonner opting out of the race, Molloy seems the obvious choice to take over from the county chairman.
Meanwhile, former Cavan boss Val Andrews has been appointed the new manager of the Louth football team.
Andrews has agreed a three-year term and replaces Paddy Carr, who resigned following Louth's loss to the Cavan in the qualifiers.
Meanwhile, Offaly football manager Paul O'Kelly has been sensationally sacked.
O'Kelly had been only eight months into a three-year contract and his team his team took eventual provincial winners Laois to a replay in the Leinster Championship.
