Donegal boss Brian McEniff says that a draw was a fair result following titanic struggle with Galway at Croke Park on Monday.
The Ulster county will have to try again next Saturday in an attempt to reach the All-Ireland semi-final following the 0-14 to 1-11 stalemate.
''I suppose a draw was a fair result,'' said McEniff after a pulsating game in extremely hot conditions.
''Galway really put it up to us in the last quarter of the first half.
''We came back at them, then they seemed to pull away again. But I told my lads we were a late fitness team, and we would have it in our legs in the last 10 minutes.
''But unfortunately we leaked that vital point at the end.
''We did show great character in coming back from four points down against one of the better teams in the competition.
''We knew we were going to have one big battle, and it was a great game of football; a pure game of football, and played in a very sporting fashion.''
Galway manager John O'Mahony was just glad to have got out of jail.
''Our boys were very tired in the final 10 minutes, and we were struggling,'' he said.
''But our lads also deserve a lot of credit as well they way they stuck it out.
''Fair dues to Donegal, they always play football, and deserve everything they get.
''I said before the game that we had a 50-50 chance to win, and that's the way it turned out.
''We are delighted to get another chance, as there are a lot of things we have to work on.
''At least we have got another game, and we are glad to get a replay and live to fight another day.''
