Mickey Harte lead Tyrone to the All-Ireland final |
Tyrone manager Mickey Harte has won the Philips Manager of Month for August. In his first season in charge, Harte has steered the county to a historic All-Ireland shoot-out with Ulster neighbours Armagh on 28 September.
Harte collected the trophy in Dublin on Tuesday and gave strong hints that his inspirational skipper Peter Canavan will be ready for the big day at Croke Park.
Canavan injured an ankle in the early stages of the semi-final against Kerry, but it is believed that he is making great strides to be ready for the big day.
''Everything is going as well as we can expect,'' said Harte. ''Peter's very positive about the injury, and very optimistic.
''He's got it in his head that there's no doubt that he'll be ready for the occasion, and that he'll be ready for the occasion.''
Meanwhile, Ulster duo Benny Coulter and Sean Marty Lockhart have been confirmed as panellists for Ireland's International Rules squad next month.
