Dinny Cahill's Antrim will play Kerry at Croke Park on Monday |
Antrim hurler Liam Watson should know on Wednesday night whether he will be available for Monday's Allianz NHL Division Two final against Kerry at Croke Park.
Loughgiel man Watson was sent off in a recent club game but there has been major confusion whether the player received a straight red card for a striking offence or two cautions.
The Antrim GAA disciplinary authorities will discuss the referee's match report on Wednesday evening.
A straight red card involving striking invariably means an automatic three-month suspension while two yellows mean no ban is incurred.
Antrim will be without the suspended Aidan Delargy in the league decider and the forward also looks likely to play no part in the championship either after apparently quitting the squad.
Delargy is understood to be angry that the Antrim authorities didn't attempt to appeal the three-month ban handed out to him after he was sent off in the league game against Down in February.
Division One decider
The suspension for striking rules him out of the Ulster Championship games against London and Down.
Antrim boss Dinny Cahill has insisted that he is unaware of Delargy's apparent decision to quit the panel.
"He's out through suspension and apparently, he got injured also," said Cahill.
"If Aidan said to me that he was quitting, I would say it straight out so I hope when he is ready he'll come back to it".
Antrim's bank holiday game against Kerry (1400 BST) will precede the Division One decider between Kilkenny and Tipperary (1545).
