Derry boss Mickey Moran swings the axe for qualifier |
Donegal boss Brian McEniff has swung the axe in making five changes for Saturday's All-Ireland qualifier against Longford in Ballybofey.
Out go resident stars Jim McGuinness and Christy Toye while hot-shot Brendan Devenney is sidelined with a knee injury.
However, full-back Noel McGinley returns for the injured Eamon Reddan after missing Donegal's lame Ulster Championship exit at the hands of Fermanagh.
Also back in harness is Shane Carr who comes in at centre half-back with Barry Monaghan dropping to the bench.
Stephen McDermott now wears the number 9 jersey in place of McGuinness and Kevin Rafferty takes over from Toye.
Derry boss Mickey Moran has left two vacancies for Saturday's qualifier in Wexford. He has yet to decide who will wear the number 15 jersey and fill the spot at left half-back.
However, Moran has brought back Ronan Rocks into the starting line-up at wing half-forward, while Limavady's Paul Brown will make his debut at right half-forward.
Kevin Doherty, Darren Crozier, Gareth Doherty, and Gavin Diamond and Geoffrey McGonigle will all feature in Moran's mind before he finalises starting line-up.
Meanwhile, Cavan boss Mattie Kerrigan is another to make sweeping changes for Sunday's All-Ireland qualifier against Louth in Navan.
Donegal's Brendan Devenney sidelined with knee injury |
Disappointed at the loss to Antrim in the Ulster Championship opener, Kerrigan has brought back Ger Pierson, Sean Brady, James Reilly and Finbar O'Reilly.
There is also a chance that Jason Reilly may return following his brief appearance against the Saffrons as a second-half substitute.
Reilly will undergo a fitness test on an ankle injury before the game. James Reilly takes over from goalkeeper Aaron Donohoe with O'Reilly replacing Paul Galligan at right corner-forward.
With Brady coming into the half forward-line, Pearse McKenna moves to midfield at the expense of Sean Maguire.
Meanwhile, there are no such worries for Monaghan manager Colm Coyle. He keeps the same formation to face Down in the final Ulster Champions tie at Clones that dumped out All-Ireland champions Armagh in the opening round.
Coyle's only problem is to fill the void vacated by the banned Vincent Corey who was handed an eight-week suspension for an incident in the Ulster under-21 final against Tyrone.
The choice will between Dermott McDermott, Anthony Rooney, and Padraig Keenan.
