Mickey Harte is also worried over Stephen O'Neill's fitness |
Ryan McMenamin and Gerard Cavlan have been called into the Tyrone team for Saturday's Ulster Football replay against Derry.
McMenamin replaces Michael McGee in the defence while Cavlan takes over from Enda McGinley in the attack.
McGee was given a roasting by Derry's Paddy Bradley in the drawn match and his demotion is no surprise.
Despite McMenamin's inclusion, Conor Gormley is expected to be given the role of shackling Bradley at Casement Park.
Cavlan impressed when he was introduced as a substitute at Clones and with McGinley struggling last Sunday, the Dungannon man's selection was predicted.
Stephen O'Neill remains an injury doubt for Tyrone despite being named at left half-forward.
O'Neill sustained shoulder ligament damage in the drawn encounter.
"We won't know until Saturday whether Stephen will make it," said Tyrone boss Mickey Harte.
Lockhart did a fine marking job on Peter Canavan on Sunday |
"His shoulder has been responding well to treatment but that progress needs to continue for the next couple of days".
Peter Canavan picked up an ankle strain in the drawn encounter but he is fit for Saturday's game.
Gavin Devlin will again be available for the replay as his disciplinary hearing into a charge that he stamped on a Laois player in the NFL final won't be heard until 28 May.
Derry sources have told the BBC that Sean Martin Lockhart is winning his battle to face Tyrone in Saturday's match.
The Derry defender was forced to leave the pitch eight minutes before the end of Sunday's first meeting with Tyrone because of an arm injury.
Lockhart was clutching the arm he hurt badly last season but Oak Leaf sources said it was not a recurrence of that injury.
The Banagher man did a superb marking job on Peter Canavan on Sunday and is a crucial player for the Oak Leafers.
Two shattered bones in his arm in June 2002 sidelined Lockhart for six months.
McBride chance
Anthony Tohill also seems certain to start against the Red Hand County.
Tohill was replaced in the closing stages of Sunday's drawn match but he reported no ill-effects at training on Tuesday.
Conleth Gilligan seems certain to miss the rematch because of suspension following his dismissal in Sunday's draw.
Gilligan received a straight red-card after tangling with Ryan McMenamin.
Derry boss Mickey Moran has claimed that Gilligan did not strike McMenamin but apparently the match video does not give a clear view of the incident.
Half-forward Mark O'Neill picked up a slight calf injury in the game but after struggling to make an impression in his debut game, he would have been facing a battle to hold onto his place anyway.
With Gilligan likely to miss out, Johnny McBride seems certain to be drafted into the Derry attack while Geoffrey McGonigle and Benny Murray are in line to replace O'Neill.
Meanwhile, Fermanagh forward Kieran Donnelly is facing a battle to be fit for the Ulster Championship game against Donegal on 1 June.
Donnelly has been unable to train for the past two weeks after sustaining ankle ligament damage in a club game.
A knee problem for Paul Brewster is also giving Fermanagh cause for concern.
