Antrim maintain promotion hopes
Antrim hurling manager Dinny Cahill
Dinny Cahill's Antrim side claimed a nailbiting win in Kerry

Derry 3-11 6-19 Dublin

Derry look certainties for relegation from Division One of the Allianz National Hurling League after being on the receiving end of a 17-point hammering by Dublin at Celtic Park.

Dublin rocked the home side with three early goals.

Stephen Hiney, Stephen McDonnell and Kevin Flynn notched the Dubs' opening quarter goals.

Ollie Collins then replied with a Derry goal from a 20 metre free but the visitors led 3-10 to 1-5 at half-time.

Ollie Collins set up Raymond Kennedy for Derry's second goal of the match three minutes after the interval.

However, within a minute Dublin notched another three-pointer with Stephen McDonnell's long-range shot deceiving goalkeeper Kieran Stevenson.

Keith Horgan (55) and Michael Carton (62) struck Dublin's two remaining goals and Ollie Collins' late goal was little consolation for the outclassed home side.

Even victory in Derry's two remaining games away to Waterford and at home to Offaly would be unlikely to save Dominic McKinley's side from the drop.

Meath 2-10 0-12 Down (full-time)
Down's NHL promotion hopes suffered a major blow when they lost by four points against Meath in Navan.

Down, helped by five first half points by Martin Coulter Jnr, led by a point at the interval.

Martin Coulter Snr (two) plus Ger Adair, Gerard McGrattan and Stephen Clarke also got in the scoresheet in the first half.

Padraig Coone notched Meath's first half goal and with the home team set to benefit from the strong breeze in the second half, they looked well-placed at the interval.

Blood substitute Keith Callaghan hit Meath's second goal in the 57th minute which helped the home side claim a 2-10 to 0-12 victory.

Kerry 2-13 2-14 Antrim (full-time)
Brian McFall's injury-time point earned Antrim a nail-biting one point victory over Kerry to maintain their NHL promotion hopes.

Antrim led 2-6 to 0-4 at the interval but Kerry fight back strongly to lead with less than three minutes left.

However, McFall then hit the final two points of the contest to earn Antrim a somewhat fortunate success.

Paul Close hit Antrim's first goal in the 15th minute with a sweet groundstroke.

McFall rattled the Kerry net again four minutes later with a superb 20 metre free.

However, Mike Slattery's goal 10 minutes after the interval started a Kerry comeback.

With Billy Brick and Shane Brick knocking over some fine points, Kerry chipped away at the Saffrons' lead and John Mike Dooley's goal increased the Antrim nerves.

Mike Slattery's free levelled the match eight minutes from time and a Shane Brick score put Kerry ahead for the first time since the early stages with only three minutes remaining.

However, McFall's two late scores earned Dinny Cahill's team the two priceless points.

Gweedore defeated St Eunan's 1-11 to 0-10 in the Final of the 2002 Donegal Football Championship.

The Donegal championship was delayed last year because of a series of protest and appeals from various clubs.
