UUJ 0-13 1-8 Athlone IT
Jordanstown produced a solid performance to defeat Athlone IT by two points in Wednesday's Sigerson Cup clash.
Damian Barton's UUJ side led by only a point at the interval (0-6 to 0-5) but an accomplished second half performance put them in control of the match.
Athlone grabbed their goal in injury-time to cut UUJ's lead to two points but time then ran out for the home side.
Winning manager Barton picked out full-back Gerry O'Reilly as one of his team's most impressive performers.
"He was very solid but overall, it was very much a team effort and we got the job done," said Barton.
Impressive midfielder Philip Loughran weighed in with two points while in-form Derry star Paddy Bradley top-scored with three points.

Down star Michael Walsh and Antrim forward Kevin Madden were also among the UUJ scorers.
The win earns Jordanstown a quarter-final tussle against St Mary's which will take place on the opening day of the Sigerson weekendin Cork next month.
Former Derry star Barton was a student at St Mary's in the early 1980s.
Queen's hope to secure a last eight place by defeating Cork IT in Dublin on Thursday.
Armagh star Paddy McKeever captains a Queen's squad which also includes Antrim intercounty men Kevin McGourty and Sean Kelly plus Karl Oakes (Down), Martin McGrath (Fermanagh), Kevin McElvanna (Armagh) and Dick Clerkin (Monaghan).
Queen's are managed this season by Down veteran James McCartan who played for the Belfast university in the early 1990s.
Cork IT will be spearheaded in the game at the Dublin City University playing fields (1430 GMT) by Cork stars Alan Cronin and Graham Canty.
